Implementation of Stage 1 Water Restrictions
The City of Blanco Public Water System, ID #0160002, will implement "Stage 1" water restrictions to be effective as of June 7, 2021. Expected high temperatures and future lack of rainfall are projected to cause a higher demand for water use in the coming months within our area. The following rationing will aid in continual water service for the health and safety of Blanco citizens. The City of Blanco is currently purchasing treated water from CLWSC who initiated drought rationing in May, 2021. The provisions for Stage 1 restrictions for all City of Blanco water customers are as follows:
Voluntary Water Use Restrictions for Reducing Demand:
(a) Water customers are requested to voluntarily limit the irrigation of landscaped areas to Sundays and Thursdays for customers with a street address ending in an even number (0,2,4,6 or 8), and Saturdays and Wednesdays for water customers with a street address ending in an odd number (1,3,57 or 9), and to irrigate landscapes only between the hours of midnight and 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. to midnight on designated water days.
(b) All operations of the City of Blanco shall adhere to water use restrictions prescribed for "Stage 2" of the approved Drought Management Plan.
(c) All water customers are requested to practice water conservation and to minimize or discontinue water use for non-essential purposes.
This restriction, by order of the Public Works Director, shall remain active until further notice, but no longer than 60 days. Please visit www.cityofblanco.com to view the approved Drought Management Plan or call (830) 833-4525 for further information.
I thank you all in advance for your cooperation and support!

SUBJECT: STAGE 1 DROUGHT RATIONING IMPLEMENTATION
Effective June 1, 2018, CLWSC is implementing Stage 1 Drought Rationing in the CLWSC service area.
High temperatures and below-normal rainfall have resulted in high usage within the systems, so the following outdoor rationing will be required to maintain available water supplies for the health and safety of the public. Stage 1 rationing will last until further notice, but not longer than 60 days.
STAGE 1 RATIONING REQUIREMENTS
Landscape watering (hose-end sprinkler and in-ground irrigation system) is limited to two days per week according to the last digit of your street address:
- Even (0, 2, 4, 6, 8): Monday and Thursday
- Odd (1, 3, 5, 7, 9): Tuesday and Friday
- No address or more than one address: Monday and Friday
CLWSC may enact the following penalties for violations of the rationing requirements:
- First Violation: CLWSC will issue a written warning.
- Second Violation: CLWSC may install a flow restrictor in the customer's service line. The cost of this shall be the actual cost to do the work and not exceed $100.00.
- Subsequent Violations: CLWSC may terminate service for up to 7 consecutive days and charge the most current reconnection fee to restore service.
Please note that second and subsequent violation penalties will not be carried out without investigation or observation by CLWSC.
